Thank you for visiting our new blog. We hope this page will serve as a way for interested friends and relatives of Pack members to keep up to date with our latest adventures.

Welcome To Scouting
Camp Buffalo - Sagamore Council
September 18-19, 2009

We had a fantastic time at the council's opening event for the Cub Scouts!

We all arrived Friday night, and had plenty of time to set up our tents before sunset.
The fire was started by the leaders from Den 9 and some parent volunteers.

We took a short walk to the council ring to participate in the opening ceremonies.
Pack 3160 lead a energetic version of She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountian.

After the campfire ceremony we returned to our campsite, Whispering Pines.
Our fire had turned into a bed of coals, just right for cooking.
S'mores, baked apples, and banana boats soon followed.
We all worked our way into a sugar coma, brushed our teeth, and went off to bed as a bugle played taps in the distance.

The Cubmaster and his assistant were up before sunrise Saturday morning. Stoves we assembled, ingredients were gathered, and the pancakes and sausages started to sizzle. We all ate our fill of Paul Bunyan pancakes, and then headed out to the opening flag ceremony.

The morning was filled with fishing, hiking, kickball, and a few trips over the monkey bridge.
I think we all agree that the highlight of the morning was the big fish that Keith caught with a night-crawler and a borrowed pole. Keith released the monster so we could come back and catch it again next year.

After a lunch of walking tacos, we listened to some information about popcorn sales, shot sling-shots, archery, and air rifles. We concluded our day with a spirited boat race.

Here is a slide show of our day at Camp Buffalo.

We ended our day with a dignified flag lowering ceremony.

We were sad that the day was over, but happy to know that we will return another day.
All of the boys had a great time enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family.

See you at the next event.

Until then.......Do Your Best!
